Collagen And Wrinkles

Why Your Skin Doesn't Have To Look Older...

What does older skin need to look healthy, youthful? It needs moisture, nutrients, and most of all collagen. Scientists now know that without it skin becomes dry, wrinkled, furrowed and dull. And the older you get, the less collagen you've got.

Collagen is a protein (a biological polymer consisting of amino acids) that serves as a key structural component of connective tissue such as skin, bones, ligaments, etc. Dermis, the inner layer of the skin, contains large amounts of collagen whose fibers form a supporting mesh responsible for skin's strength, texture and resilience.

As any material, collagen is subject to wear and tear - it slowly breaks down over time. Skin cells called fibroblasts are capable of producing collagen. When needed, fibroblasts replace broken collagen fibers with new ones. Unfortunately, as we age the skin's ability to replace damaged collagen diminishes and more gaps and irregularities develop in the collagen mesh. This process eventually leads to wrinkles, facial sag, and rough skin texture. One important part of wrinkle prevention and elimination is to reduce collagen breakdown and increase its supply.

To reduce rather than just cover wrinkles, the new collagen must become a part of the skin's inner layer, the dermis.

Collagen is a large molecule that is difficult to deliver through topical application. Most skin creams only feed the skin smaller molecules, such as partial proteins, hydrolyzed collagen (smashed up collagen molecules), vitamins and minerals. Until now, many people turned to doctors to restore collagen with direct injections. But injections are costly, inconvenient and irritating. Collagen for injections usually comes from animals sources. Since this is a foreign protein for humans, injected collagen may be attacked by the immune system, which may lead to a serious allergic reaction.

So if you don't want or can't afford collagen injections, and crushed (hydrolyzed) collagen particles in creams just don't do the job - but you're noticing wrinkles and fine lines, and sagging skin - what to do?

While the skin needs full collagen to remain smooth, firm and youthful, it has been nearly impossible to deliver whole collagen molecules directly to skin, until now.

On July 7, 2004, a United States Patent (#6,759,056) was issued to Hydroderm for its unique Collagen Infusion Delivery System. This invention consists of a transdermal system that can deliver high molecular weight cosmetic agents (such as whole collagen molecules) to skin cells. With Hydroderm’s patented Collagen Infusion Delivery System, it is now possible to deliver whole collagen molecules directly to the skin. This system delivers entire, intact collagen molecules and encourages quick and dynamic skin rejuvenation.

Sounds too good to be true? Hey, that's what I thought - until I tried it. You can try it for free. Why? I'm guessing these folks can afford to give away free trials because this stuff really works, and once you try it, most likely you'll end up a customer.
